Briolight Responsible Business Policies
Equal Pay and Gender Equality • Occupational Health and Safety • Environmental Responsibility
General Provisions
Briolight develops software and manufactures, supplies, installs and services interactive technologies for inclusive education and social and medical rehabilitation. The company recognises its responsibilities towards employees, customers, partners, equipment users and the environment.
This document brings together three independent corporate policies. They apply to Briolight management and all employees, regardless of position, form of employment or work location. Requirements for contractors and suppliers apply within the scope of their agreements and applicable law.
1. EQUAL PAY, GENDER EQUALITY AND NON-DISCRIMINATION POLICY
1.1. Principles
Briolight ensures equal employment rights and opportunities and does not permit direct or indirect discrimination in recruitment, employment conditions, pay, training, professional development, promotion or termination of employment.
Employment decisions are based on professional criteria: qualifications, competencies, experience, complexity of tasks, responsibilities, quality and results of work. Sex, gender identity, age, disability, marital or parental status, veteran status and other characteristics unrelated to the job must not be grounds for unjustified restrictions.
Equal pay is provided for equal work or work of equal value without discrimination. Differences in remuneration may be based only on objective, documented and lawful criteria.
1.2. Practical Measures
Clear criteria are applied when setting salaries, allowances, bonuses and reviewing remuneration. Pay conditions for comparable positions are periodically reviewed and unjustified differences corrected.
Women and men have equal access to vacancies, management positions, vocational training and career development. Discriminatory requirements in job postings and interviews are prohibited.
Employees' family responsibilities are respected; leave and statutory guarantees are provided. Reasonable accommodations for employees with disabilities are made within legal requirements.
Humiliation, harassment, sexual harassment, offensive conduct and retaliation against a person for submitting a complaint are not tolerated.
1.3. Reporting Violations
An employee or applicant may confidentially report a possible violation to their immediate supervisor, the director or another person authorised by the company. If the complaint concerns a supervisor, an alternative authorised recipient must be available.
Reports are considered impartially, with personal data protected and without punishment or pressure for good-faith reporting. Appropriate corrective action is determined. The right to contact competent public authorities or a court is not restricted.
2. OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY
2.1. Commitments
Briolight seeks to prevent injuries, occupational risks and hazardous situations and to ensure safe and healthy working conditions appropriate to its activities and Ukrainian law.
Safety is a priority during product design and assembly, electronics testing, warehousing, packing, transportation, installation, configuration and servicing at customer premises, as well as during office and remote work.
2.2. Safety Measures
Identify hazards and assess risks for the relevant activities; establish safe operating procedures and designate responsible persons as required by law.
Provide mandatory safety briefings, training and knowledge checks; maintain current instructions and records of training and authorisation for work that requires it.
Maintain tools, electrical equipment, fixtures and workplaces in safe condition; use suitable personal protective equipment where necessary; comply with fire safety requirements.
Observe safe handling and lifting practices, electrical safety and installation requirements for projection and other interactive equipment, particularly in educational and healthcare facilities.
Ensure access to response procedures for fire, air-raid warnings, shelling threats and other emergencies. When life or health is immediately threatened, work stops and employees follow established safety procedures.
Arrange mandatory medical examinations for categories of workers covered by statutory requirements, respecting the confidentiality of medical information.
2.3. Incident Response and Improvement
Employees report unsafe conditions, defects, injuries and incidents to management. The company arranges appropriate responses, records incidents, determines causes and corrective actions, and conducts investigations and notifications to authorities when required by law.
Employees may propose safety improvements without adverse consequences for good-faith reports.
3. ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY AND RESPONSIBLE RESOURCE USE
3.1. Principles
Briolight seeks to minimise the negative environmental impacts of its activities and products throughout equipment life cycles, from design and procurement to repair, upgrades and end of service.
The company complies with applicable environmental requirements and supports waste prevention, resource efficiency and responsible handling of electronic components.
3.2. Key Practices
Prioritise repairs, software updates, upgrades and replacement of individual components, where technically and economically justified, instead of premature replacement of complete systems.
Use electricity, materials, packaging, paper and water efficiently; prefer electronic documentation and reuse of packaging materials where safe.
Separate sortable waste and provide appropriate temporary storage for electronic components, batteries, rechargeable batteries, light sources and other waste according to their properties.
Transfer waste to specialised providers holding the permits and/or licences required for the relevant operations, retaining supporting documentation where necessary.
Consider durability, repairability, energy use and packaging volume in product development and component selection; optimise logistics where feasible.
Inform employees and, where appropriate, partners about proper handling of equipment and operational waste.
3.3. Environmental Risk Control
The company assesses significant environmental aspects of its activities, remedies identified violations and reviews its practices when technologies, regulatory requirements or production processes change.
4. IMPLEMENTATION, OVERSIGHT AND REVIEW
4.1. Governance
The director ensures approval of the policies, assignment of responsibilities and availability of resources for their implementation. Persons appointed under the applicable procedures organise activities within their competence.
Employees are familiarised with the policies in a verifiable manner. Responsible staff ensure the current version remains accessible.
4.2. Compliance Review
At least annually, and following significant changes in law, work organisation or production risks, the company reviews the policies and their implementation measures.
Evidence of compliance is retained in the relevant records – orders, HR and payroll documentation, safety briefing and training logs, inspection reports, waste transfer documentation and corrective-action records – where such documentation is required and applicable.
The policies are available to employees, partners and interested parties and may be published on the official Briolight website.
