Puzzles for children: advantages and disadvantages
The puzzle is an educational puzzle game in the form of a mosaic, which must be composed of fragments of different shapes. The number of fragments varies depending on the age of the collector and the physical and psychological characteristics. The puzzle can consist of two parts.
Usually, the puzzle requires perseverance and patience. Using the puzzle for educational and corrective purposes in working with children, the child gets the opportunity to better understand the relationship between part and whole, to develop fine motor skills and logical thinking.
But for preschoolers and children with SEN puzzles have certain disadvantages.
First, hyperactive children, as well as children with difficulty concentrating and just preschoolers, are sometimes not ready to sit for a long time and collect puzzles (even if it is part of a developmental or correctional activity). Therefore, this method is not always used by teachers.
Secondly, puzzles often do not have a rigid fixation, so the picture can accidentally break if you touch it. The child may lose motivation and stop attending classes.
Third, puzzle pieces are often lost, and the child cannot finish assembling the puzzle he started. It can also negatively affect the course of the correctional or educational process.
These problems can be solved with the help of Briolight equipment: an interactive panel and an interactive floor.
The Briolight interactive panel is equipped with Briolight software and more than 80 third-party applications, including many puzzles of different levels of complexity and different themes. In addition, you can install additional programs from the Play Store (puzzles, tests, educational games, simulators, etc.). Their advantage over ordinary physical puzzles is that the fragments do not slip, and the already assembled picture can not be destroyed due to incorrect movements.
The Briolight interactive floor has an extended version of the software, it has up to 210 exercises (the number depends on the floor model and the availability of additional packages), including puzzles for 1 or two children with and without a timer. Kids are offered tasks with puzzles that can satisfy their interest (find the missing piece of the picture or choose who eats) and at the same time do it moving on the floor. Such an interesting educational puzzle does not require sitting still, but on the contrary, makes you move and at the same time be neat and attentive.
Advantages of using puzzles with the help of Briolight equipment:
- fixation of movements
- study of the world (objects, forms, connections)
- development of logic
- the ability to choose the form of conduction (passive – interactive panel, movable – interactive floor)
- can be collected both individually and in pairs (or groups)
So, by applying an innovative approach to classic puzzles, you can get rid of significant shortcomings and turn into developmental exercises and an interesting game.
