Briolight Interactive Floor – Therapeutic Activity #2: Cognitive Skills
Cognitive processes and learning

The Briolight interactive floor includes games designed to engage children in cognitive activities, particularly three key areas.

Concentration and attention

Game-based activities can make it easier to concentrate on a specific task and reduce distraction. Different modes are available; in “Exam” mode, a child completes a timed activity, adding an optional challenge that may encourage focused participation.

Working memory

Children practise selecting and retaining relevant information, remembering game rules, instructions from a therapist or teacher and experiences from earlier attempts. This may help them avoid repeating mistakes. In the “Animals” test, for example, a child identifies animals by their black silhouettes; with practice, recognition can become faster and more confident.

Cognitive flexibility

A varied library of games and adjustable difficulty levels allows children to encounter new situations, try different solution strategies and adapt to changing tasks.

The activities also provide opportunities to acquire knowledge of mathematics, history, literature, English and geography, as well as foundational concepts such as numbers and letters.
