Briolight Interactive Sandbox – Therapeutic Activity #3

Briolight Interactive Sandbox – Therapeutic Activity #3
Sandplay and sensory activities

The Briolight interactive sandbox is used in educational settings for activities involving coordination and imagination, combining tactile and sensory play with projected images. Children practise symbolic thinking and explore their own ideas. Specialists can incorporate the sandbox into professionally guided psychological and developmental support programmes.

How can it be used?

Children can create extraordinary imaginary landscapes on different scales – large continents and oceans or a tiny river crossing a meadow. This encourages imagination, creative thinking and exploration of geography.

Building a lake or mountain with their hands offers opportunities to practise coordination, fine motor skills and tactile perception. The combination of sand, colours, animated water and sound may provide a relaxing experience and opportunities for emotional expression.

To engage a child, invite them to create a dream world or an environment where a favourite fictional character lives.

The sandbox can help diversify professional educational and developmental sessions and strengthen children's interest in activities. It is a supplementary tool, not a substitute for professional therapy.
